How I Captured a Full Day of Content at Build Your Own Brand 2026
Hurricane Isaias tried to crash the party this year, and a powerhouse lineup of women showed up anyway.
If you're not familiar, Build Your Own Brand Conference (BYOB) is a conference for women in business who are past the point of needing generic, surface level advice. It's not another stage full of speakers who feel untouchable. Every session leader is chosen because they're willing to actually pour into the room, not because of follower count. That made my job as the person documenting the day a lot more fun, because the energy in that venue was real from the first session to the last.
This year's event was hosted at 1702 Events in Mobile, Alabama, and I spent the entire day capturing behind the scenes video content and photos. Here's what that actually looked like:
What I Was There to Do
When a client books special event content creation with me, the goal is simple: give them a library of authentic, usable content without asking them to stop and pose for it. For BYOB, that meant moving through the venue all day capturing real moments as they happened. Candid reactions during sessions. The energy shift when a speaker said something that hit home. Attendees connecting between breakouts. The little details, like the burger spread, that made the day feel like an experience instead of just an agenda.
The sessions themselves gave me a ton to work with, covering everything from brand matchmaking to money mindset to building a podcast in 30 minutes. With a lineup like that, the room was never flat. People were taking notes, laughing, nodding along. My job was to catch all of it without ever becoming a distraction from it.

Why Behind the Scenes Content Matters for Events Like This
Here's the thing about event content: the polished recap photos matter, but they're not the whole story. The behind the scenes footage is what makes people feel like they were there, or makes them wish they had been. It's what a conference organizer can use to sell next year's tickets without saying a single sales-y word. It's proof, not a pitch.
That's the approach I bring to every special event package, whether it's a conference, a styled shoot, or a wedding day. Capture the real thing as it unfolds, and let the moments do the convincing.
The Recipe for a Good Day
Powerhouse speakers. Honest conversations about money, capacity, and building a business that actually fits your life. Delish burgers. Real connections made in the hallway between sessions. That's a full day, and I got to document every bit of it.
If you're planning a conference, retreat, or brand event on the Gulf Coast and want someone capturing it the way it actually felt, not just the way it looked on a schedule, that's exactly the kind of day I love being behind the camera for.
